Artist's Description
On an unseasonably warm day in February 2023, a friend and fellow artist and I went to Fort Fisher beach to get some reference photos for paintings. We found a secluded spot where the waves were crashing on the rocks in big sprays and we were both snapping away when this Willet came strolling along right in front of me. It was fishing among the rocks when it popped up on this one and seemed to pose proudly just for me.

Heather is a fine artist and photographer, who loves the challenge of painting as realistically as she can. Her favorite subjects are birds and flowers, but she also enjoys painting just about anything and everything in nature. After almost 30 years working in various graphic design, web design, marketing, and sales groups for large and small corporations, Heather decided it was time to get out of the rat race and focus on what she really loves: creating art in many forms and media. She has a degree in Industrial Design from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh but has been drawing and painting since she was a child.
